Defective
after Rembrandt’s etching of Adam and Eve
There’s a solid air about Eve,
she’s the powerhouse of the couple;
arm hiding a nipple,
she extends a nourishing apple
to her nerdy, bewildered mate.
No way can Rembrandt believe
the flaw is in her, but the text
insists on the fault being sexed,
and the havoc that’s coming next
will be blamed on Adam’s date.
