An Unknown Track
The currency of fear does not devalue
Nor does it enrich our lives.
Huddled behind closed doors,
Not unhinged,
But getting there,
And at the same time getting nowhere.
Everywhere forbidden unless essential.
Contactless and reverential.
The washing or wringing of hands.
Alcohol part of the ceremony.
Purification.
Puritanical.
Uncoupled,
Heading down an unknown track,
At great speed.
